We are a twisted American Diner in the heart of Salem, MA - just yards away from the commuter rail station. We are a foodie haven, not a greasy spoon. We serve Bacon, Beer & Espresso - along with the best brisket hash you'll ever try. There is a Soda Jerk and home-made buttermilk biscuits with red eye gravy. Breakfast, Brunch and Lunch are served all day. So grab a stool, sip a cuppa and chat with your neighbor, cuz we ain't got no TV.

Great selection of food, tasty big portions, friendly staff :)
WE picked this place from Yelp. We thought it looked an interesting for breakfast. First the food was excellent. They have a different slant on food. The items were interesting and absolutely yummy. From Omelets to "Not chicken and waffles" are all delish. The employees are an eclectic grouping that is there to make your dining experience excellent. They all are knowledgable and able to make suggestions based on your desires. All and all an experience worth repeating.
We had The Hungry Chef and Dan MacLean’s Scotch Egg Breakfast. Both were amazing! Love the atmosphere, can't wait to go back!
Had the french toast it was good. Staff were friendly and made sure I had everything and checked up on me a few times. Will go back. Nice job Ugly Mug Diner.
Great staff, great food with a wide variety of choices (especially the egg dishes!) - something for everyone. If you're visiting Salem, this is where the locals eat!! If you live here then you already know this is where it's at. Thanks, Ugly Mug, for a fun spot.
I LOVE the Ugly Mug. The food is always excellent, and the service is fast, friendly and efficient. They are often crowded, but that's to be expected since they are AWESOME!
A bit busy, but that’s just because it’s that good. Eggs are perfect every damn time. It’s really amazing how perfectly they can poach an egg!
