We are a twisted American Diner in the heart of Salem, MA - just yards away from the commuter rail station. We are a foodie haven, not a greasy spoon. We serve Bacon, Beer & Espresso - along with the best brisket hash you'll ever try. There is a Soda Jerk and home-made buttermilk biscuits with red eye gravy. Breakfast, Brunch and Lunch are served all day. So grab a stool, sip a cuppa and chat with your neighbor, cuz we ain't got no TV.

It's just basically the best ever. The juevos rancheros and pancakes are awesome and the Baymosa (yes, they serve booze) will make any brunch better. Salem was in desperate need of a great breakfast spot and Ugly Mug truly delivers.
The Ugly Mug is one of the most creative & delicious spots to eat breakfast in Salem. Whether you're craving something sweet, savory, or combination of both they have you covered. You must try their sweet potato home fries, any egg dish (there are NEVER too many) like their steak and eggs or any of the benedicts AND their stuffed french toast. Thanks for being a great unique addition to the dining scene in Salem!
Staff is friendly, the atmosphere is fun and the food is AWESOME!! We liked it so much we came back on our last day of vacation for another amazing breakfast. We totally recommend!
Really disappointed they listed themselves as a gluten free restaurant. Couldn't eat anything other than eggs and fruit. My other half ordered a delicious looking meal and he couldn't eat the hash because of how sour it was.
Great people, terrific food! Don't miss the Elvis waffle it's a must!
Suggestion: Remove huevos ramcheros from your menu because you are not good at it.
Love it love it love it. There was a wait, so we put our name on the list walked around and came back and were seated immediately. The food was well worth the wait and the drinks were amazing. Staff was super nice! Highly recommend it!
