We are a twisted American Diner in the heart of Salem, MA - just yards away from the commuter rail station. We are a foodie haven, not a greasy spoon. We serve Bacon, Beer & Espresso - along with the best brisket hash you'll ever try. There is a Soda Jerk and home-made buttermilk biscuits with red eye gravy. Breakfast, Brunch and Lunch are served all day. So grab a stool, sip a cuppa and chat with your neighbor, cuz we ain't got no TV.

I sat at the counter by myself and soaked up the vibe. Popular and almost full of guests. Gay friendly with rainbow flag on display, quite a few tranny staff if that interests you, or puts you off - I’m indifferent about that sort of thing. It was one of the few places I found open for breakfast. I wanted a quick bite before my train and choose something simple: egg “sammich” on an onion bagel, plus home fries and coffee. RecommendedDelicious, eclectic diner with friendly staff and a warm atmosphere. The food was quick and tasty. A great location for a bite to eat when walking through Salem. I greatly enjoyed the sweet potato home fries and crab cake eggs Benedict.
Great place! Open and welcoming to all, diverse menu choices, including the blueberry corn cakes and sweet potato home fries, 2 of my favorites!
We stopped at the Ugly Mug last Tuesday during our visit to Salem. What a great place!!! The corn pancakes were AMAZING! (wish you were closer, I'm craving them now!) The staff was attentive and very helpful. We really enjoyed our meal, and will definitely return if we ever get back to Salem!!! Thanks for a memorable meal.

The Lox Benedict was delish! They didn’t over cook the English muffin like so many places do, just enough pickled onions to contrast the lusciousness of the egg and hollandaise, added with a generous portion of salmon. An amazing brunch to end our stay in Salem.
