The end result is a comfortable, casual environment with great food and drink served by a friendly and knowledgable staff. I have eaten at this place only twice, both times brunch, one week apart. The first time four of us had top notch food, drinks, and service. The second time the drinks and service were fab but food not so much. Out of six of us, two ordered biscuits and sausage gravy and it was horrible. After one bite, they both did not eat anymore of it. After tasting it, the consensus was "like chewing on a sage brush" and "way too salty." Best place to eat/hang out in Abilene! I'm in town from upstate NY on business and I've had dinner here at least 10 times in the past 5 weeks and I have never been disappointed. Very diverse and interesting menu as well as a great beer selection and fun bartenders and servers. Not going to miss Abilene, but I'll miss the Taphouse!!
We really enjoyed this place! We got appetizers of burger sliders & bacon wrapped quail on a bed of grits. Prices are reasonable, comparable to Chili's or Abuelo's. The wait staff was awesome! It wasn't loud like Abuelo's or Chili's. The beer menu had various beers from the US and other countries. The wine menu had some excellent choices as well. The food was great and the service was amazing very knowledgeable about so many different beers also.
Love the service, food, and atmosphere. I live in California but this is my favorite place to come and eat at when I visit.
Just amazing!!!!!! love that u have brought the Austin feel to abilene.. Service is great best bartenders in town and great choices of drinks.. Best burgers in town. Can't Waite to try the brunch in about 30 min.
