About this business

The Taphouse is a locally owned and operated Abilene restaurant and bar that specializes in what we like to call Texas Comfort Food. Our made-from-scratch menu is flanked by a huge selection of craft beer, craft cocktails, and a carefully chosen wine list. The end result is a comfortable, casual environment with great food and drink served by a friendly and knowledgable staff. We're proud of our little slice of Texas, and cordially invite you to come experience it for yourself...we hope to see you soon!

Extremely loud music at night. I live down the street and it still rattles my windows and vibrates the walls. I have a child that can't sleep through the noise and he can sleep through thunderstorms and TVs and other sounds. Overpriced, yet good food. Pompous service from a staff that has no true experience in beer or food. If you like inexperienced, rude, entitled, hipster service absolutely enjoy. Go for the food, run away for the service.

Business response:

Sean, I'm sorry to hear that you experienced the service you describe. If you could direct message this page with a more detailed description of your server and the service you received I can assure you I will deal with this issue personally. We obviously do NOT want to project this image, quite the contrary. I train my staff to treat everyone as if they are family and to use the utmost respect towards the people who save their hard-earned money and come in to the Taphouse for a good time. Please message me those details and... read more

We enjoyed the brunch menu. We had their Cap'n Crunch French toast & their Texas style Benedict , both were enjoyable . Service was good , the patio is relaxing & comfortable . We will be regular customers.
