When it first opened, the food was really great. The last couple times we’ve had it - both breakfast and dinner- it was extremely generic and bland. Nothing worth spending money on. The last thing we ordered was breakfast. My burrito’s meat was terrible and the whole thing lacked any flavor despite having green chili on it.

I Used to work at The Tavern a few years back and still to this day even after moving away back down to texas i still think about all the amazing times i had there with not only my co workers but the amazing customers and regulars, not only are the people amazing but the environment is so warming and welcoming and the food absolutely unforgettably delicious! Best place to eat in all of colorado without a doubt!

Ate there this afternoon and ordered shepherds pie. The menu said braised roast beef with vegetables with mashed potatoes for $12.95. I received about 3/4’s cup of lumpy mashed potatoes with gravy sprinkled with chopped green onion (I guess that was the vegetable) and maybe 2 tablespoons of beef, mostly minuscule pieces. I would not have paid $3.95 for this as a side. I didn’t complain to the waitress because I was with my daughter on her birthday and didn’t want to upset her.
