I had my first meal at The Southern this week when we went for my husband's birthday. We will definitely be going back. The complementary valet makes parking easy, though it is a bit difficult getting to it right now with all of the surrounding construction. We were seated promptly and the service was fantastic. They have so many unique dishes and wonderful takes on southern classics, so it was hard to choose what to try first. My husband had the chicken fried chicken on macaroni and cheese, which he loved. The food is excellent and very consistent. The service is great. Get the chicken fried chicken with whipped potatoes. Trust me. Yum!
Service was less then optimal unless you think your server should be "high" entrees were cold upon deliver .... blood orange mimosa best

The two out-of-town friends I took to dinner here and I all agree every single morsel of food and every drop we had to drink here was the finest, most delicious, stunningly good dinner we had ever enjoyed. It's a beautiful place but completely unpretentious and made for a lovely evening. Will definitely shout its praises and recommend to others and also return as often as possible. Definitely the place I will be taking visitors to Nashville out to eat!
Our favorite place to go for dinner and drinks when we are in Nashville! Wait staff are always attentive, personable and fun- never been disappointed with anything we've ordered. Go - indulge - enjoy!
