Apparently, we didn’t look like their typical table of liquor-swilling businessmen (a serious miscalculation on their end), for the service was absolutely horrible. We had to literally flag down passing waiters after our waiter went MIA. No specials were described, no offers for refills or seconds on drinks (Bloody Mary, Cokes), and we had to wait until we were actually going to get steak sauce from another table before our “waiter” finally brought some. RecommendedOur favourite steak restaurant in NYC - we visit every time we are in town. Tonight was excellent. We had an accident where I dropped a bowl of mashed potatoes that broke my wine glass and the bowl with the potatoes in. Our server replaced the wine immediately and brought a fresh bowl of potatoes - no extra charge.
Restaurant Week at Smith & Wollensky was more than fabulous. Best lunch ever. Lobster tail and steak were beyond perfect. Service was excellent. Run, don't walk to Smith & Wollensky.
