Got some GREAT news today from Dr. Melamud of The Retina Group of Washington (RGW) -- Fairfax, VA office! My vision in the eye that had the detached retina back in the fall of 2013 has improved, and the retinal scans are normal. Dr. Melamud, the ophthalmic tech, and I were smiling and laughing. In fact, we were giddy. Results like this are hard to come by -- especially when the macula area has tears, as was the case with my detachment. Thank you, Dr. Melamud!
The staff is professional, organized, and polite. The Docs are compassionate and highly skilled....Dr. Kaplan and Dr. Sanders have been life savers to us.
It was approximately 2 years ago when my vision started to act up. Blurry and many spots in the view. I went to my friend who works for a very good optometrist and they immediately referred me to The Retina Group of Washington Sterling VA office. I was examined by Dr. Dal Chun who with expert care and calm demeanor treated me and calmed my fears. The only thing that is poor about this place is the way they schedule their appointments. Yesterday my appointment was at 1030. I arrived at 1015. I was seen by the doctor at 1215. As I was waiting, I overheard others talking and three of them were also scheduled to be seen at 1030 with the same doctor as myself! This is ridiculous! How can one doctor be expected to see 4 patients at one time! As my husband said, if I had shown up 2 hours after my appointment time, would they have seen me?
