Not recommended if you're going druing work – I've worked in upscale restaurants and I'm one of the most forgiving people to wait on. However, I was disappointed with this restaurant. Service was extremely slow and we had to ask for dessert menus. If you have more than an hour and a half for lunch and like your food more on the less flavorful side, you'll be happy.
Very rude – If you don't look rich, don't bother coming here. We were treated appallingly. The staff were reluctant to seat us and then lied about what was on offer in order to get us to leave. Someone needs to train the staff better in customer relations. As visitors to San Fransisco from the UK and Chicago, we were most surprised by the condescending treatment we received, as were my SF hosts.
love to look and buy – Neiman Marcus has the absolute best desiger shoe selection in San Francisco.
High class atmosphere with food to match – I've always considered lunch at the Rotunda to be an essential part of a day of shopping in Union Square. The food is excellent... I recommend the lobster club. And don't worry if you can't land one of the highly sought after tables by the window overlooking downtown; the comfy semicircular booths allow you to admire the restaurant's beautiful architecture, including the spectacular glass ceiling.
High Class Eats – The Rotunda has great food but it is expensive. However, it is definitely worth it. The service is also top shelf. We have never had a bad experience here. I would recommend making reservations and ask for a window seat so you can fully enjoy the view.
yummy, great view and service!!! A+ – we always go here for lunch. The service is great, the food is deelish and the service is great. I would get the warm seafood salad. you have a great view of union square as well.
Cheeseburgers – This place has a GREAT cheeseburger and they WILL cook it to taste!!! At $13 it is a little pricey but worth it for the true Cheeseburger aficionado!
Shopaholic's Downfall – Neiman Marcus has very reasonable prices in terms of markup, and the service is generally good. The sales staff in the shoe dept. is always very helpful. I would have to agree that their credit card policy is annoying at times, but when you apply for a Neiman Marcus card you get a $20 gift card for free. (now if only you could buy something for $20 there... =P)
Consistentl Great Shopping! – Customer service is alive and great at Neiman Marcus. The salespersons know their customers and take very good care of you. And despite being called "needless mark-up," prices are the same as at Nordstrom, Macy's and Saks for comparable merchandise. (They also have more high-end stuff.) They have the best cosmetics. They may have even pioneered the "rewards" program (their InCircle program). Their cafe is wonderful, and the Rotunda restaurant is fantastic! I LOVE THIS PLACE!
