Luxury department store combines haute couture and classic elegance. – In Short In 1907, the first Neiman Marcus opened in Dallas. Today, you can buy ready-to-wear clothes at locations from coast to coast. Shelves hold merchandise from an all-star team of designers: Manolo Blahnik, Anne Klein, Dolce & Gabbana and more. The shoe department is small and upscale: think Fendi and Prada. Personal shoppers are available to track down the perfect Chanel nail polish to complement the Kate Spade bag that matches the DKNY skirt.
Neiman Marcus The Rotunda Restaurant – Fabulous is word that comes to mind, the view is great over looking Union Square. The food....excellent. The service is fantastic...I loved it.
just lovely! – warning, do not go here if you are intimidated by stuffiness! i love the pretentiousness of this place but it might not agree wtih some people. it has an old-school high-society southern vibe (since neiman's was founded in dallas). the food is excellent and the service is great. it's just a lovely experience and i think everyone has to try it once!
Avoid and eye stye and don't go here. – I had a make up application done here. It was the worst I have ever had done. The girls were somewhat condescending. They told me how bad my current make up was and how superior their make up was. They did the ol tag team routine. "Oh, my gawd you looks sooooooo great"!!! Like they have never seen a woman with make up on before. The make up looked like something out of the seventies when they were done. Black liner all the way around my lids, and all of my skin imperfections amplified ... read more
One of my FAVORITES! – I absolutely love the Rotunda at Neiman Marcus. Besides being incredibly beautiful, the food is amazing. The bread they serve with the strawberry butter is a guilty pleasure I I look forward to. Everyone on here who is complaining they were treated poorly need to relax...I have been to this restaurant several times and have always had a good experience. I do agree that it's not somewhere to go for a quick bite to eat. Only go if you want to take your time, and relax.
not at all a waste of time – i've eaten at the Rotunda a few times...and believe me...even tho i'm only 16...i know good food. reading these past reviews were sort of sickening. I felt very welcomed and comfortable at the Rotunda and i recommend it to people i know. The food is great and the service is served with a smile. Overall...the rotunda serves good tea and lunches and is definitely worth the time
Unbelievably bad – This is the worst restaurant in all of San Francisco. Everything from the obnoxious hostess (she must have forgotten she works at the restaurant of a department store - not a Michelin starred haute cuisine kind of place) to the ratty and torn upholstery of the booths was terrible. Idiotic service, average food and tacky clientele. Don't waste your time or money here.
Avoid the FreshMarket – I love shopping at NM, even though their prices are high. The First Call/Last Call sales are always great for finding luxury items for somewhat of a discount. You can sign up for e-mail updates and go on the first day for best selection. The FreshMarket, however, is something else. First time I went there, I stood next to the "please wait to be seated" but the servers ignored me. The "ladies who lunch" behind me got seated right away. Second time I went, I got a sandwich to go. The menu said it has ro... read more
Expansive city views and upscale Cal cuisine make this department store eatery a favorite among ladies who lunch. – The Scene Perched on the fourth floor of Neiman Marcus, this ring-shaped eatery features sweeping views of Union Square and three levels of designer goods below. Beneath a magnificent gold and white-glass dome, leisurely shoppers and awe-struck tourists sink into plush, red velvet chairs at tightly packed tables. Diners seeking more spacious environs retreat to opulent booths tucked into adjacent alcoves, where... read more
