Not very impressed with service person or the company! Got a quote from them in writing by tech about what was needed. Then company the next day sent another quote saying it was going to be almost 4 times the amount! 4 times!! That is a HUGE difference! The tech then showed up the next day ( didn't call, didn't email- nothing) and woke up both kids from their nap! Not impressed. You just don't randomly show up saying you ' missed' measuring something the day before and not call your costumer to let them know you are coming. ... read more

When I bought my older home, the inspection indicated that the chimney needed to be rebuilt, along with some foundational work under the chimney area. This was a pricey project. At the recommendation of others, I went with Mad Hatter for the chimney work and Acculevel for the foundation work. They both did a fantastic job and were highly professional. I like working with companies, like Mad Hatter, that know their craft and take pride in what they do.
Had them rebuild a firebox which fell apart after 2 years. I called them to see if they would fix it and was told I would have to pay again. After receiving second and third opinions, it ends up they did not build to code in the first place. Kind of ironic when their website states they "evaluate according to guidelines set forth by the National Fire Prevention Association (NFPA)" and they "return a deteriorating, unsafe chimney to full - code complying condition quickly and economically."
