I would strongly encourage folks who need a chimney sweep or inspection to beware when dealing with The Mad Hatter. My experience is that The Mad Hatter attempts to use "industry standards" as building codes, and in doing so misrepresents the condition of chimneys. The Mad Hatter attempted to lure me into paying for extensive services by indicating that a chimney was in violation of a building code when in fact the chimney isn't in violation of any codes. We shopped around a little to find someone to sweep the chimney at our new house and Mad Hatter had the best price by far. They also gave us a complete inspection and told us how to fix some of the problems ourselves, recommending products we could get on our own which was extremely helpful. I think the tech's name was Jared, but in any case he was extremely friendly and clean. Showed us pics he took of the chimney and where our biggest problems were and why they were problems.

We just had our chimney top repaired. Cannot say enough about the great job that Roger did. Replaced the metal chase cover and rotten wood and painted the spark Arrester. Looks wonderful. I highly recommend them!!
