The Independent is officially my new favorite restaurant. Not only was the food perfect, the owner made us feel so welcome and was invested in us having a great experience. His extensive wine knowledge and food pairings was enough to secure me a weekly spot at the bar just to experience a new drink and tasty bite! The amazing food was enough to make us want to go back, the hospitality set the experience over the top.
These guys are serious when it comes to cocktails and beer and wine. Food is spot on!

Everything was scrumptious...a little spendy, but good food is.
The service was excellent. They were very nice. They main course and starch was delicious. The vegetables were cooked well but were bland. I would definitely recommend eating the salmon or fried chicken. Next time we will dine in to enjoy the chill atmosphere. Definitely stop by here if you're in the area.
My 4th time in, and I'm totally a bar fly. I'm usually here for happy hour. Mac and cheese, and libations. Fried Chicken entree is huge, but totally worth the leftovers. If for nothing else; get yourself inside, warm up, chill down. I heart the staff for being down to earth and also professional. Fav place in Hangtown.
Love this place for either lunch or dinner..can not go wrong.
