The Hungry Cat has been meowing its way to the hearts of the city's phat cats! This modern, urban bar and seafood eatery caters to the Hollywood people, who love fish and alcohol. With an outdoor patio, horseshoe shaped bar, seating capacity of about 75 and a cool vibe, this place is ideal to chill out with your buddies. The fare on the menu has influences from the east coast and creations by chef and owner David Lentz, including the likes of tuna sashimi melon salad and the famous 'pug burger.' Don't forget to try the delic... read more

just delectable If you're a pesco-vegetarian (vegetarian that eats fish), this is the place for you. Wonderfully fresh oysters, really good seafood entrees and original, tasty drinks at the bar. The service was wonderful, and a date night here with my husband turned out great.
Me-OOWWW! – Just looking for a casual place to grab a drink & a snack after a movie at TheArclight. We thought we would just sit at the bar. We paused in front of the hostess who was on the phone, & wouldn't even look at us. Since it was the coldest night of the year in L.A we started to go inside. She then looked (annoyed) held up her index finger and kept on with her conversation. Forget it ,I told my friends & as we were walking away, the hostess finally hung up & I saw her shrug her shoulders. Based on many of the food r... read more
wonderful place. one of our new favorites – We ate here last thursday night. my wife had the scallops, which were cooked perfectly. Scallops are often not done quite right, and these were great. I had the cod, which was also wonderful. We followed the waitresses recommendation on a wine suggestion, which was at a lower price than many alternatives. We sat outside, heat lamps and environment was nice. The food and service were excellent, this place is one of our new favorites. The service was very attentive. The Hungry Cat wa... read more
The Hungry Cat welcomes skinny patrons – We ate at the Hungry Cat for the first time. We went on a Tuesday night. There was next to no wait and the entire staff was friendly. Our server was helpful in describing the menu. I thought the ambiance was nice, although the tables are quite close to one another. We had the pinot noir and cheese plate for starters. The entree selection is VERY minimal. For entrees, we had the lobster roll and scallops. The lobster roll was ok...the amount of breading and french fries overpowers the ... read more
Now I know why they call it the HUNGRY CAT! – My boyfriend and I went to the hungry cat after watching a movie at the acrlight. We were trying to go to Schwabs for a late night snack but it was closed down so we ended up here. It looked promising from the exterior but mang were we disappointed. We ordered clam chowder and the Crab Cakes from the menu as well as a few cocktails. It clam chowder was sub par, I am a clam chowder expert since I grew up in San Francisco and had it all my life. I am a clam. The crackers they gave ... read more
Worse customer service I have had in a long time. – We weren't greeted with even a "hello" before being seated. And did the waiter forget to place our order with the kitchen? That's what we thought after waiting over an hour for our food! We had asked if everything was al a carte on the menu and were told the entree came with everything. Not so! The order of shrimp (which includes head and tail) was deep fryed and served with chili in the bottom of the bowl. The scallopes were under cooked. This place is over rated. A great ... read more
fabulous food and fun service – I've owned 3 French restaurants myself, and have eaten in restaurants all over Europe, and America, but this one is the tops, great food, very innovative, great quality, and fun. the drinks are also marvelous!!!!!! One of my favorite restaurants. Can't wait for the opening of the next Hungry Cat in, in our favorite city, Santa Barbara, wish you would open one on the West Side. Thanks again for making us have a wonderful evening Harry Bloem
I heart the Hungry Cat – Food is great. Service is good. Fun place. It can get a little loud inside, but the patio is great when the weather is warm enough. It's also open late, so I love going in and grabbing some oysters and a pug burger after a movie at the Arclight. Thank you David Lentz!
Snotty host(ess?) – The food here is A+, friendliness and ability of wait staff great, but the host(ess?) needs a severe attitude adjustment. We had more than enough food. The fries are undeniably about the best on the planet if you like the skinny crisp kind. It's true that no substitutions are allowed, but then who cares when food is so exemplary. Also, be prepared to be very uncomfortable on the outside patio, the seating is akin to a bed of nails.
