One of the best meals you’ll have in Madison!
While planning our visit to the Madison area, one thing that was top on our list was to eat at The Green Owl Cafe. Upon entering we were told that there was a 30 min wait, which we agreed to wait. However, 30 minutes turned into an hour and then we were finally seated outside in the hot sun. After waiting 15 more minutes without seeing a server we got up and left. We were very hungry and disappointed.

I was really excited to visit here from Minneapolis. It was the first place I decided to eat at in Madison as it was the only all vegan place. Unfortunately, my food tasted and looked like cafeteria food...especially the coleslaw. It looked like it was at least a week old and the faux fish looked like it was microwaved from a freezer bag. The mango cheesecake was nothing to write home about. Spicy wings were okay. I can't say I will be back. :/ Cute owls everywhere though. That was cute! So, an extra star for the owls!
My overdue first visit to the Green Owl was a fun and delicious experience! Our somewhat 'high-powered' business lunch meeting there was quite a success thanks to the cool atmosphere, good service, very tasty cuisine, and new wave on the sound system. Damn tasty Deluxe Nachos and I enjoyed the tastes of my fellow patrons' dishes: jackfruit quesadillas and TLT w/avocado and roasted potatoes. Cheers!
