The Great Lost Bear has become a Portland institution since opening in 1979. The "Bear" is located about two miles from Portland's touristy Old Port but well worth the journey across town to the Mysterious Woodford's Area. The Great Lost Bear features an enormous eclectic menu with something for everyone: from hearty, spicy junk food to a large vegetarian selection, from steaks, salads and All American Burgers to award winning, wicked gooey desserts... all served in an entertaining atmosphere.

I always stop by here when I am in town. I can best describe this as a Dead Head menu: Excellent burgers, fries, salads with many southwestern foods (burritos, quesadillas, chili). Add to that a fairly extensive craft beer selection. I live the down home atmosphere. It reminds me of what the Ground Round hoped to do.
Great food great service fun atmosphere
I am so addicted to their buffalo chicken salad, I go EVERY sunday to get one. sometimes i'll sneak into portland in the middle of the week to get one too! I always tell my friends I'll let them pick where we eat next time..but I never do. Buffalos before Hoes ❤
