The Crazy Gator

4.0

About this business

History of our building dates back to 1928. It started out as a feed and storage depot in the 20's. Supplies came by boat and rail. After that business, the building has been used as a Scotty's, Motorcycle repair shop, & Flea Market. The building was then abandoned for quite a few years. Then in 1998, it was rebuilt inside out and became a restaurant called Sunset Steakhouse. The top layer of roof was blown off in 2001 and the building and restaurant was sold. June 4, 2001 The Crazy Gator was opened by Beth and Steve Robin.

Horrible service. Waited over an hour to get food and still never got it! Will never go there again. I will not recommend it to anyone. The waitress got an attitude because we got up and left after we asked for a check for drinks.

My son & I have been searching for a restaurant with good fish. We've been disappointed time & again until we went to Crazy Gator. We both ordered the fish dinner with 2 filets. The filets were so big we had to get doggie bags! But the dogs won't be getting their fangs on these leftovers! The fish was cooked perfectly with a light, crispy coating. The mac & cheese was delicious & tasty coleslaw. The dining room had lots of great atmosphere overlooking the sunset on Lake Eustis. We loved it so much, we returned the next night... read more

Ordered food and about 50 minutes go by and a different server came to the table asked if we needed anything I said yes my appetizer and food. She said the cooks just got back and the food wasn't started yet. I asked to talk to a manager and ten minutes went by and we left because he never came (He was on the phone). Wasted over a hour. Never been to a restaurant so bad , they could not pay me to go back. Good luck staying in business.

Went there for the first time. We were visiting friends in Florida and kept bragging about this place and took us there. We ordered our food and the waitress came back and said they were out of three of the five things we ordered. We picked other stuff to order and they were out of that too. Hard to stay in business like that
