I am very concerned about the very questionable action of BCH regarding the care (or absence of) to Justina Pelletier. She came to be treated for flu and complications due to her mitochondrial disease and ended locked up in a psychiatric unit under very questionable conditions, and without the right to have her providers help or intervene. You seem to have the perfect mix of arrogance, ignorance, obvious lack of rare medical condition and God complex. You tear family's apart simply because you seem to know "better" then other nationally renowned doctors. I believe this is a possible EMTALA Violation: Second, if an EMC exists, “hospital staff must either stabilize that condition to the extent of their ability or transfer the patient to another hospital with the appropriate capabilities.” Seems to me she should have been transfered to Tufts rather than giving her a second diagnosis and take her away from her parents..did they contact Tufts for her medical records?
