The Upper East Side landmark was built in 1930, when spacious accommodations, fine linens and furniture, and a large and attentive staff were the very least that might be expected for a true luxury hotel; and that tradition continues even today.

Superb experience marred only by the use of mobile phones. I paid a substantial price to see Mr Woody Allen only to have audience members stand in front of me recording and photographing Mr Allen. I don’t know why the hotel allows it. That said the food was 10/10 and the staff out of this world, attentive, professional and very helpful. The Cafe Carlyle is 100%
