There is little doubt that The Carlyle, with its magnificent view of Central Park and its close proximity to some of the best shops and museums in New York, is one of the preeminent "grand hotels" in New York. The Upper East Side landmark was built in 1930, when spacious accommodations, fine linens and furniture, and a large and attentive staff were the very least that might be expected for a true luxury hotel; and that tradition continues even today.

It was very surreal seeing Woody Allen and his band in such an intimate setting. It sounded very similar to the music in his movie Midnight in Paris which gave me goosebumps!! The food and drinks were very expensive but worth it. The service was excellent!!!
I am a very big Woody Allen fan, so listening to my idol playing the clarinet should be a 5 star event. However as a big fan of food as well, I found the quality of food ordinary. The set up of the restaurant is very cramped, it put a lot of stress on the otherwise wonderful serving staff. I probably will never go back unless Woody invites me.
