Our day starts at 4:30 AM. That's when our main baker arrives to measure flour, mix sugar, and bake delicious cookies and desserts for our front counter. As Dayton locals come to grab tasty treats, we're also hard at work on custom orders. It was sad when you order cake from them. When you asked them please don't put any Fondant on the cake they still do that. When you cut the cake up the cake crumbles everywhere when you cut it. That's was very disappointing to know.it was like if the cake wasn't cooked enough.
My husband purchased 4 white (almond flavoring) cupcakes yesterday..last night we sat down to eat one and it was like a hockey puck...stale and absolutely tasteless...so disappointed. Cupcakes used to yummy but since the owner now works at his store in Troy the Cakery of Dayton has suffered ever since.
The Cakery did the cake for my parents 65th anniversary party. It was not only stunning, all said it was delicious - not a crumb left over!! We had chocolate on one side, yellow on the other (both with buttercream icing) and a separate white cake. So very happy with everything! Thank you so much!!!
Recently we used The Cakery for a gender reveal party for our upcoming child. The party was set for a sunday (The Cakery is closed on sundays) so we picked up the cake the day before on saturday. Come party time when cut into the cake we were quite disappointed to find that the entire bottom half the cake was uncooked! Due to this we had to serve the top cooked half to our guests and discard the bottom half which was just essentially raw cake batter. Best cake ever!!! They created the wedding cake of my dreams. We got so many compliments on how beautiful the cake was and how amazing it tasted!!!
They made the cake and cupcakes for my daughter's wedding and they were excellent. Extremely nice people and great service.

They did a wonderful job on our wedding cake!! They were amazing to work with and the cake was so moist! The icing wasn't overly sweet it was the perfect cake!!
