Visiting from Seattle, Amazing destination place to come and play games
We stopped by Board Room Game Cafe on a rainy afternoon while visiting from Ontario and ended up staying way longer than planned. The staff were super patient walking us through a couple of game rules we had no clue about, which made the whole thing feel way less intimidating. They also had a solid hot chocolate that hit the spot after wandering around downtown Halifax in the cold. It's the kind of cozy, low key spot I wish we had back home, and I'd happily go back next time we're in town.
The place looks a bit old and dark in photos, but it’s actually very clean and bright inside! It’s $10 per person to play board games. I also tried one of their Halloween special drinks.
Stopped by for a drink and ended up staying almost three hours on a rainy Saturday afternoon, which tells you everything about how comfortable the place is. The staff did a quick rundown of a strategy game I'd never heard of and checked back twice without being pushy about it. Their chai latte was genuinely good, not just an afterthought next to the games, and the shelves are organized well enough that finding something for a group of four took about two minutes.
