Owner says beans are homemade. When you drive out of parking lot you see cans of beans on the floor
Been going here as a child and it's my favorite barbecue place. You NEED to buy a bottle of the sauce to take home. It's delicious!!

Not a lot of bbq shop around this section of the valley, I only know of 3 up here, but its really good. Super friendly service and not a very long weight.
An all-around great place. With saw dust on the floor you feel like you’re in the right place. If you’re anywhere even close to Bear Pit you have to give it a try. Everything is freshly made and taste just right. Don’t even get me started on the garlic toast!
Best BBQ ever. Great food and prices. Our family has been eating here since Max Bear opened it 45 plus years ago. Excellent service. I highly recommend the Bear Pit Special on Garlic toast, the beans are the best I've ever had, great Cole slaw. You won't be disappointed. Their BBQ sauce is to die for. We moved to OC in 76 and still make trips out to the valley every month or so.

One of the great places for BBQ in the Valley. If you've ever had the good graces to have visited down south, you know they do all the right things when it comes to BBQ. And this resteraunt in Mission Hills does the south justice. A great place to take the family and order a mile high plate of food. A good plate to order is the "Combearnation" lunch wich is a BBQ sandwich (beef, pork or turkey) on garlic toast and a beef rib.
