Excellent The best BBQ you can get in the valley. The beef ribs are the best I have ever had, the waitresses make you feel like you are family and the pricesw are great.
I am a BBQ finatic.. I could eat Ribs all day long... The Bear Pit is GREAT... I go there and can split a dinner with my daughter and we still have enuf to take home for another meal... They have a variety of items on their menu and the servers there are so nice that they let you make substitutions for no charge. They are jam packed for lunch, dinner and weekends... HITLERS HANGOUT Its appalling to see & feel that a place like this exists here in S.F.Valley. Our family recently dined here and was treated very rudely as if a Latin family didn't belong in a Missouri style restaurant. Its funny we should have worn our KKK apparel. Had we been wearing these capes we would have rec'vd our dinner before a table, who showed up after we had. and the waitress wouldn't have thrown our plates at us.

Ribs to die for and sandwiches on garlic toast can't be beat(my favorites are either turkey or beef/brisket) Resturant is relaxed apmosphere.Walt disney bears on walls & sawdust on floors-old style-yes; but they know what they're doing when it comes to barbeque! I just accepted a new job in Mission Hills and the first thing my family said to me was "WOW! You'll be right next to the Bear Pit". The restaurant is a long-standing tradition for us. No frills at all-the floor is covered in sawdust- just really great BBQ. Your meal starts with a little bowl of pickles and carrots. Smell's Great - Lacks the Flavor This restaurant has a great looking menu, it smells wonderful, but the meats are dry, and all the food I tasted lacks in flavor. I wouldn't recommend it.
Good bar-b-que! This restaurant has been around forever. They are reasonably priced and the atmosphere is very layed back & casual. My family loves their bar-b-que sauce! It's great for lunch or dinner & is easy access from the freeway. Good deal!
One of the great places for BBQ in the Valley. If you've ever had the good graces to have visited down south, you know they do all the right things when it comes to BBQ. And this resteraunt in Mission Hills does the south justice. A great place to take the family and order a mile high plate of food.
