This review is not about food. While the food and the service and the atmosphere were fantastic, what all of us will remember is what happened after dinner. My wife and I went with a group of friends. Where I was seated, there was an AC duct directly above my head. It was a very hot day outside and water was collecting on the duct. The Bayou has the most thoughtfully-crafted, flavorful food I have had in a long time! It is a perfect balance of sophistication and homey comfort food. The jalapeno margarita is to die for, the jalapeno cheddar grits...Oh My...and the beignets! This place is what good food should be; affordable, delicious, and brings a smile to your face. Despite the hour-long drive, I will be back here sooner rather than later!
