About this business

Specialties The Aster Cafe is located under the trees on the prettiest street in Minneapolis. Overlooking the mighty Mississippi river and the skyline of the city, the Aster is a candle-lit restaurant-bar with a sweet European patio. Live music, great brunches, craft beers and cocktails, and a thoughtful wine list add up to City Pages calling us the "best place to go on a first date". Under Executive Chefs Drew Ledo, our menu is fresh (no deep fryers.) and inventive. We also have lovely spaces for events and weddings, which ... read more

Sunday brunch 11-2 is a time to hear great music while dining. I’ve heard and danced to Patty and the Buttons many times. East Coast Swing, Lindy Hop, and Balboa are usual dances. The small dance floor gets crowded, but the experienced dancers have excellent dance etiquette. The menu is a bit limited, but everything served is good. You’ll find your favorites among the delicious choices! Servers are attentive and knowledgeable about the food.

Our company hosted a client appreciation party on October 1st and it was spectacular thanks to the amazing staff at Aster! Planning was made easy right from the start with Dawn who helped us design the event and personalize every detail with food and beverage suggestions for our guests. She was fun to work with, stayed in constant contact with us leading up to the event, was flexible, helpful, and accommodating. The day of the event the staff could not have been better! They were welcoming, energetic, friendly, and always as... read more

Great venue! Friendly staff and accommodating. Needs a bit more lighting to read menu but that's what phones are for. Would go back again.

Our waitress, Molly, made our dining experience especially nice. The Special Mediterranean Flat Bread pizza was fantastic and the hummus was the best I've ever had. We sat outside overlooking the Mighty Mississippi in the warm sun of September. What a marvelous way to spend our 46th wedding anniversary!

What a beautiful space they have. Friendly staff from initial contact until our final goodbye. They obviously are passionate about creating an awesome experience. Had lunch there. The beer 'n cheese soup is to die for! So is the prime rib sandwich. Cannot wait to go back.
