So much fun and the food is surprisingly good! – Love this place, great hang out ~ always attrative fun people there to meet ~ I can't believe how great the food is either!! Very different feel than your average bar in LA which is what I really love about this place. Has an outside patio too.
Two Rights Make One BIG Wrong – Clearly the concept behind The Arsenal was to take an old, kitschy dive and add on a hip, Hollywood-style addition to make it more cool. Boy, did it go wrong. Not only is the "hip" part just awful - narrow, deafeningly loud, impossible to navigate, with watery drinks - but now the kitschy part that could've been fun as a retro-cool hangout suffers from the bleedover of pounding dance music and too-cool-for-school Westsiders on the prowl instead of just hanging out, which is really what the old... read more
football happy hour! – I come to the Arsenal all the time on busier nights and never realized they have a great NFL happy house on Sunday and Monday nights. Cheap drinks and really good deals on "football bar food" until the game ends, plus they serve all the stuff on their normal menu. Right now it's pretty lowkey but I thought it was a cool place to watch the game on a Sunday night (probably would be a good way to start off the week on Monday too). They even have a DJ if you want to stick around after the game. Also free p... read more
great local hangout spot – I live right around the corner from this great spot and always end up here for drinks or some dinner with friends. It doesn't look like a happening spot from just driving by so grab a great spot early in the night and keep it once the crowds pick up. There are random crowds every night of the week, fun for mingling with a new crowd every week. The staff is cool and remember you. I've had 2 birthday parties there and countless other gatherings and it never fails to please. If you're lucky enough to ... read more
Overpriced, weak drinks. – I've been here a couple times and think the place is way overrated. I watched the bartender pour me a very weak Jack and Coke (for 7 dollars!) When he handed it to me I said that I saw him pour it and that he barely put any Jack Daniels in it. Since it was loud in there, he played it off like he couldn't hear me and that he thought someone else was pouring weak drinks. I complained to the other bartender and he poured some more Jack in there. This is typical L.A. bar -- dark red interior, girls wit... read more
Great hang-out – This is a favorite place of mine in West LA - great vibe, cool music, diverse crowd. I like the fact that there's good sized open air area. Another highlight is the "Regal Beagle" part of the bar - dark red leather couches are reminiscent of Three's Company - and the weapons on the wall are a unique touch.
Good place to have a drink... – Overall I enjoyed "The Arsenal" even though the place was too dark inside and that tends to slow down people...Good place to go to with a small group of friends and get a table(free). Try the house special shots!
Great Friday hangout! – Very cool bar. Good drinks. Prices were reasonable except the fancy dessert drinks. DJ music is a bit loud but tolerable. Would definitely go back.
nice spot for friends – Went to a b-day party of a friend of a friend here last weekend...tasty special drinks (my faves were the Key Lime and Peachy Somethingorother). Friendly staff, cool interior, but the sound system left something to be desired: boomy and loud yet you couldn't really hear the music -- but it did make for a good excuse for the single guys to get close to the single ladies! Great for a group of friends to hang out, but if you're single looking to score, this may not be the ideal place: most people gather ... read more
