Amazing sushi, great value, and wonderful service – We have become regulars at Thaicoon and Sushi bar due to the amazing food, great value for it and friendly & quick service. Over a year ago, the service was aweful and we almost stopped going there even though we loved the food. That completely changed 1+ years ago as there is new management and new service there now. Both the sushi & thai are delicious and they are generous with their portions. The Kamakazi roll is completely addictive and the thick ginger dressing on the ... read more

Good Neighborhood Sushi Restaurant – I order from here all the time... They have a great variety of sushi rolls and it is pretty consistent. Definitely go on Monday nights... they have a dollar sushi special!! I recommend the "Rainbow Supreme" roll, which has eel, cream cheese, and cucumber topped with tuna, white fish, salmon, shrimp and avocado or the "Super Crunch" roll. There is a Japanese menu and there's also a Thai menu, so there are options for everyone. My friends love the pad thai... The steamed tofu or chicken and... read more

consistently good sushi – My husband and I eat here regularly and we bring friends here as well. We have never been disappointed. The food is excellent, the staff is very "no frills." They are plenty attentive, but the service is definitely in the periphery, which can be nice. The restaurant is also in a strip mall so it lacks the stylish crowd of Harry and Sons. If you are out for food, this is a wonderful bet for sushi and thai, if you want to get emersed in a "scene," this place may feel too low-key.

Sunday Afternoon/Special Thai Food Menu – On Sunday afternoons they have more traditional Thai food and a special Thai menu not served during the week. I would highly recommend it! If you know someone who can speak Thai then even better as they do have some great soups that are not on the menu.

User review by csummers27 – Without a doubt, the worst service I've ever experienced at an Atlanta restuarant.

Good Food, Rudest Waitstaff & Management – The food is really excellent and the place is located just around the corner from me, so I continue to go back. However, I'm just about done with Thaicoon based on their repeatedly rude waitstaff, who always acts like they couldn't care less about the treatment of their customers. Despite an entire restaurant of empty tables, they don't bother seating you for sometimes 10-15 minutes because someone's on a personal call, counting money, etc. Getting your waitress to your table and ge... read more

My favorite sushi joint – Nice atmosphere and good sushi...in a strip mall? We're regulars for the Mon/Tues $1 sushi and have never been disappointed. Curries are nice, too. Waitstaff works hard, but service can be slow when they're busy and being harassed by Emory students. Go--you won't be disappointed!

Sashimi heaven – I always get the sashimi dinner. Occasionally they bring it on a platter and sometimes in the boat. When I get the boat they include a great seaweed salad that I love that has citrus and cucumber and lots of interesting flavors co-mingling. The sashimi is always very fresh and tastes perfect. I also enjoy the miso soup and green salad with ginger dressing, altho it does seem that there's an awful lot of water floating around in the bottom of the salad bowl when I'm done. The service has always been very good... read more
