I sure would have loved to give him a 5 star review but . ...I called to set up an appointment a couple months ago and his staff insisted that I had my records sent from my old orthopedic Surgeon, which I did. I also got a referral from my primary care Doctor. His staff stated at the time that they would contact me for an appointment as soon as they got my records, which they did not. Dr. Cates is an excellent surgeon. He did both of my knee replacements. In my opinion Dr. Cates is the best orthopedic surgeon in the Knoxville area.
Extremely well run organization. Excellent communication, easy to contact, scheduling appointments, follow-up. Respond quickly to requests. Doctors and staff professional with excellent bedside. Dr. Cates is extremely qualified, replaced both my knees within a year. In both cases I recovered quicker than others in rehab from other surgeons. My range of motion was excellent, well beyond expectations and the normal markers. Excellent surgeon with a wonderful bedside presence.
I am so grateful to have Dr Harold Cates as my orthopedic surgeon! He has done my two knee replacements and a total hip replacement! Dr Cates and his team are caring and give expert recommendations for care. They are good listeners and ready to help with my concerns. Excellent team to take care of you!
I have been a patient of Dr Harold Cates for the past few years. I needed total knee replacement on both knees and had the first one done in 2023. The second one was done this year. I have received excellent care from him and his staff. I hear he is retiring later on so I’m glad I was able to get taken care of before he retired because he is a very good Doctor and will be missed.
