excellent all-around – I was here on a Sunday evening and found the service and the food excellent. We utilized a coupon for a free bottle of wine and were surprised at the qualilty of the bottle that was offered. The wait staff was attentive and friendly and the manager was as well. I will definitely frequent this place again.
NEVER AGAIN – We used to come to Mare regularly, but things have changed dramatically and we will never go back. When we arrived, a couple was walking out furious about the food and service. While we sat and waited for our meal, another couple had a fight with the manager about the terrible food and bad service. My boy friend and I had a complete dinner at Tellos and it was affordable.The food and service was better then I would have expected for a less expensive restaurant.Tellos is a great find.
A BIG CATCH – I had dinner at La Belle Vie a French bistro down the block from Mare Seafood.It was very good.The host recommended I try Mare and gave me a coupon for a complementary bottle of wine.I presented the coupon and my waiter asked if I wanted red or white? He brought me a bottle of shiraz,it was very good.I had a very good dinner.I would highly recommend these two restaurants.
eat fish live longer – My doctor suggested to eat more fish and told me about Mare.I made reservation and when I arrived I was greeted and seated on time.I ordered the striped bass,it came out nice and crispy and hot.It tasted very good,with the sauce on the side.The place looks like its been around for a very long time and well kepted.The room is very well done with all kinds of fish and artifacts.
Chilled oysters – We started with the belon oysters and ended with the fanny bay oysters.Mare has over 15 oysters to choose from.I will be back for more.
GO FISH – We had the pleasure of having dinner at Mare the other night.My wife had the striped bass and I asked the waiter what is the freshest fish in the house? He replied-ALL OUR FISH IS VERY FRESH ! Well,he was right ! I ordered the red snapper and our waiter brought the whole fish to the table.But first we ordered some oysters.Every thing we had was very good.We highly recommend this place.
DINING WITH THE BOYS – Tellos has the atmosphere of the movie "GOODFELLAS".A great mix of people,everyone from gay to mob.Once in Tellos your transported to the 40s.The decor is really out of a movie.The food is to die for.We had the linguine with seafood and the chicken Tello.As we were finishing up our dinner one of the actors from OZ walked in.If you want to have a part in a movie,this is the place to be.
great out doors – We were walking around Chelsea and came upon Mare Seafood.It was nice out so we decided to eat at their sidewalk cafe.As we sat eating it was like a show watching the crowds go by.We ordered the whole fresh lobsters and they were very good.My freind had the monkfish and she said it was also good.
