Tello - what a find! Lit with candles and chandeliers, this cozy place has such a wonderful old-world feel that you may think you've walked onto the set of a Martin Scorsese film. A helpful staff serves up hefty portions (light on price) of well prepared Italian fare. Pasta is cooked al dente every time and the seafood is plentiful and fresh

Great Neighborhood Spot – A friend who lives in Chelsea recommended this neighborhood favorite. Came by after a few after work drinks and was glad I did. Veal and shrimp milano really hit the spot! If veal isn't your thing, I tried some of my friend's chicken rolatini and it was also to die for! I will definitely be coming back soon!
Great Italian in the heart of Chelsea – Chelsea is one of my favorite neighborhoods and I eat there often. I've eaten at Tello a few times and it has never disappointed. Sicilian salad followed by capellini primavera is my favorite. The portions are pretty big, sometimes I get to leave with left overs, still great the next day!
Gay friendly Italian Food at its Best! – This restaurant is full of great ambiance with real comfort food. I've been doing some of the web design work for Tello, Trois Canards, and Casa Havana and find that the diners are always friendly, never rude and when I come in to visit the restaurant I am always greeted. These restaurants are real charmers.
Not customer friendly – Out of a better wine ( sangiovese) second choice montelpuciano $10. The entre Chicken Benedtto arrived after a long time, slightly charred. The price quoted for the Panna Cotta ...$7. The bill was totally incorrect. Billed for Sangiovese $11and the Panna Cotta $8. The billwas evetually corrected. One should be able to dine without having to worry about misquoted prices and inept waitstaff. I doubt if I will go back.
home away from home – We were a group of five from out of town.We had a reservation at six oclock,we stayed at the bar until we all arrived. The bar was busy and the bartender Ryan was great and cute.We had drinks and sat down at seven. We ordered different dishes to share.the waiter split alot of the dishes to make easier.the food was outstandingly good.the service, food and drinks are at its best.We will be back to Tello s when we come back to New York.
NEW LOCATION,BETTER – TELLOS MOVED FROM 19 STREET TO 8 AVE & 20 ST.THE PLACE IS ALOT BIGGER AND STILL COZY.THE BAR IS TWICE THE SIZE.WE WENT ON A TUESDAY NIGHT AND THE PLACE WAS HOPPING.WE HAD TO WAIT AT THE BAR.{NOT TO LONG} THE FOOD WAS SO GOOD.THE SERVICE WAS PRO.I WILL KEEP COMING BACK FOR MORE.
Charming place but the food not as good as Mom's – Wine was not important to the dinner. Order vintage and get another, and the waiters neither know not care.
CHELSEA FAVORITE – I USE TO GO TO TELLO S WHEN IT WAS ON 19TH STREET.THEY NOW MOVED TO A NEW LARGER SPACE ON 8 AVE. AT 20 STREET.I WAS AFRAID IT WILL LOSE IT OLD WORLD CHARM BUT IT DID NOT.THE PLACE IS BIGGER AND BETTER.THE FOOD IS AS GREAT AS IT WAS BEFORE.THE MENU HAS CHANGED WITH A RAW BAR SELECTION AND A SALUMI AND FORMAGGI BOARD SELECTION.WINES BY THE GLASS ARE NOW OFFERED IN CARAFES AS WELL..ALONSO TELLO IS AT THE HELM COOKING UP A STORM.
brunch time – Brunch at Tello is one of the few things that gets me out of bed on a Saturday. The food is so so good and the staff is lovely.
