Update 3/7/2019 Charges need to be filed against the union. It’s obvious that Hoffa is an cahoots with UPS and is out to punish the Local’s that hold up the master. He screwed local 89 last time by offering less in the final offer and then came up with a bogus reason to impose it. Well no at the moment!!! We are under attack at our location in the process in moving 5 at minimum routes out of a union yard to non union yards. In the end as we all bump back some people will be out of work and it’s a shame. I have zero confidence in Local 247 out of Detroit to protect those involved. It’s a shame we have a good crew of drivers and for the company to be allowed to run a train wreck on us is shameful. Before Trump invented fake news, Life Magazine published it. The first ( and in many ways the most significant) labor union titan in my 70 ywer-long lifetime was/is the late Jimmy Hoffa. His genius in creating a universal contract that included even independent drivers has created a center of strength in the Teamsters Union. Top leaders are a bunch of cowards, backstabbers, and thieves who are lining their pockets off the hard work of it's members. They proved how much they care about their members with the new contract negotiated with UPS. They are making fake profiles to push a yes vote because they have been neutered by UPS. Yet they have no problem stealing my dues while threatening us if we vote no. What kind of Union does that to their members?
