So it's New Years Eve and me and my boyfriend decide to try out this place which is new for the both of us. We get there a little after 10pm which we thought was enough time to order a late bite to eat and have drinks to enjoy the new year. We sit at the bar to the right of the restaurant when you come in. Our bartender's name was Matt. If we had known he was going to serve us the service that he did, we would have left or tried to get another bartender. We order our food around 10:15pm or so. We get some drinks ordered. I had this fruity martini and my boyfriend had a strawberry margarita. The fruity martini was bland as heck and my boyfriend's margarita seemed plain compared to the description in the menu. Then, we wait over an HOUR for our food. Oh, don't think we actually got the food. We asked Matt what was the status on the food. He looks away at the clock then back at us and tells us that "the kitchen already closed and didn't tell him". Wait..... so he waited till we had to say something and it never occurred to tell us while we were waiting like idiots? That seemed very disrespectful in our eyes and I was hungry after working a day's shift thinking I was gonna get food. It doesn't stop there. During the two hours that we were there, it seemed like Matt paid more attention to other people order's rather than the ones we had already put in for drinks. It seemed like Matt had friends at the bar. They would get served their drinks after we had ordered already and it didn't feel right. THEN as we try to close out, my boyfriend tries to ask Matt. While in the middle of asking his request, Matt speaks over him and says "yeah" then looks away as my boyfriend was still trying to finish the sentence. Matt's attention went back to people we believed to be his friends again. So time passes and we still can't close out. Matt LITERALLY closes out ANOTHER person's order AFTER we had already asked him to close out. The person asked to close out AFTER we did. Again, another example of his customer service towards other's overshadowing his first interactions to us. Then Matt disappears for over 10 minutes and we are just over this. We were hungry, we were disappointed in the service, and it was a holiday. Jen was a very helpful bartender who closed us out shortly after we asked her. AND, she made my boyfriend a second strawberry margarita (since Matt wasn't attentive) and it was delicious! It had the strawberry pieces in it and it tasted great. Much different than what Matt had made. If we had Jen, I'm sure our first visit and holiday would have been much better here. The bar itself seems fun, which is why I give this review one star, and Jen was great which is the second start I gave. The rest of the missing stars comes from the lack and disrespect we were getting from Matt the bartender. We may try this place again in the future but we just want to make sure we have a different server next time.
