Kick ass bar! More pool tables in one establishment than I've ever seen. Great ambiance and variety. Met a couple cougars here once with my my best friend.

Looked fun at least... Walked in on 8/2/15 about 12:45pm & was told by an employee we could sit outside & he'd be right back. There was a bartender setting up a back bar, a barback filling ice buckets & a female server that also ignored us. The original employee never came back, so after ten minutes of corn hole, we left. But the two local dudes & the group of local gals had no problem getting service... The bartender basically interrogated me for trying to buy a few beers before happy hour ended...asked if I was buying for someone underage...so uncalled for.
This place is a converted 2story house snake in the middle of downtown Ventura . This place feels like a Los Angeles, fused with a NYC experience. The bar and menu is fully stocked. The staff is warm and the musical guest are always great.

I absolutely love The Tavern! The outside patio is gorgeous, very comfortable, and my favorite! Drinks are amazing, staff is very friendly and prompt (some are super cute too ). Pool tables upstairs and downstairs. Multiple bars inside and out. Fire pits, waterfalls! Great place to relax, hangout, meet people, and have fun!
