We stayed for two days this weekend. We booked a room with two beds back in June. When we arrived there was one queen bed. We reserved two beds for a reason. When we called the employee was rude and told us there was nothing that could be done and the manager would be back at 8am. So at 8am I went to the office. She would never show me my confirmation stating I had picked two beds and the emails that were sent never specified room type which is very frustrating because I picked a two bed room! We had a great stay end of June and we are coming back in September with friends before we go to our rental home for a week. Everything was comfortable and we enjoyed easy access to the beach. We preferred and liked that they don't access your room during your stay as a result of COVID and they were super quick with anything you called and said you needed like clean towels. The rooms are lovely and a/c cool, that makes for a comfortable stay.
This our 2nd time staying here at the Tar Heel Motel. We love it! It is dog friendly, friendly staff. The rooms have a fridge, convection oven and a microwave. The beach is across the street. We will be coming back for sure!

Nice clean place to stay great rates nice pool and close to beach and pier and some good restaurants also we enjoyed our stay and will be back to stay again!!

My fiancé and I stayed here from this past Sunday until today. We had such a wonderful time! We went to OBX to celebrate our babymoon and have some much needed relaxation time! We were accommodated to an early check in, once we arrived- we found the room had been meticulously cleaned and prepared for us! We spent our days out at the motel pool which was nice and clean, and walking right across the street to the beach!
