Real Italian food! this place is amazing, it has the home made taste of italy at an affordable price. We are very picky on italian food and this place is a definate thumbs up!
SOMETHING IS FISHY ABOUT A FEW OF THESE REVIEWS I read the reviews here, they are either superb, or terrible, and nothing in between. This alone seems a little funny to me. I Agree with Daniel G. Those two bad reviews are fake. There is no way that they describe Tanino's. No way. This is the best place to eat in this area and I mean Horseheads, Corning, Watkins Glen, and I say even Ithaca. I have lived in this area for over a decade, and the food and service are amazing. A Travelers Delite I was fortunate enough to stumble onto this gem while traveling. It is HANDS DOWN the finest food that I have had outside of Italy's borders. The service was amazing, the food was out of this world and the atmosphere just put it over the top for me. I only have one regret... I live in NC and can not enjoy this more often. I am ruined! I do not look at my local favorites with the same luster that I once did. Do not hesitate to eat here!
Just one time and your hooked..... I moved to Horseheads,NY a year ago.I ABSOLUTELY LOVE Taninos! The service is amazing,food is MUCH better than I could have ever expected! Quite good I've eaten there maybe 20 times. Reliable, tasty food. Good service. Nice people. Friendly bar. Quite a treasure for this little hick town. I'll keep going back, whenever I'm in town.
What a treat! We love to go to Tanino's for dinner. The decor is beautiful, the wait staff is very friendly and knowledgeable and the food is wonderful. We have yet to have a bad meal here. My favorite is Chicken Scampi - make sure you order is over pasta - I did receive it plain once with pasta and red sauce on the side. You want the pasta under the scampi to get all the delicious sauce. My husband is quite fond of the veal dishes and the salads are great. I've enjoyed their pizza also.
Never Again!! I will start with saying that I have been dining at this restaurant for about 8 years and I had always been happy with it before. This last time I went I was appalled!! I ordered my favorite salad: the "spinach salad". I order it every time no need to even look at the menu. When it came to me it was #1 half the size or smaller and it was made with Blue Cheese(which is a cheese I can not eat, not that they know that). Servers can make or break the dining experience We went with another couple to Taninos to try for the first time. Food was not bad but the poor attitude of the server made the experience less than enjoyable. When we asked her for each couple to have separate checks, she came back and tossed the "check folder" on the table which had both couple's checks in it!
