Good Food and Atmosphere I have dined out in all major cities of the world and stumbled upon Tanino's through invitation of a business partner. Tanino's had a wide range menu of fine Italian influenced food; gastronomic delights for the well educated pallet. I recommend this restaurant to those looking for a pleasant change in dining out. The atmosphere and food is Metro quality and something you will remember. Steaks were delicious and the staff was fast, courteous and well experienced. The price was well worth it.
Real Italian food! this place is amazing, it has the home made taste of italy at an affordable price. We are very picky on italian food and this place is a definate thumbs up!
SOMETHING IS FISHY ABOUT A FEW OF THESE REVIEWS I read the reviews here, they are either superb, or terrible, and nothing in between. This alone seems a little funny to me. I Agree with Daniel G. Those two bad reviews are fake. There is no way that they describe Tanino's. No way. This is the best place to eat in this area and I mean Horseheads, Corning, Watkins Glen, and I say even Ithaca. I have lived in this area for over a decade, and the food and service are amazing. A good place to eat We found this little place in Horsheads, NY that is just great! The food and service is good and the prices are in line with what I expecte to pay for a mid level eatery. This is one place to try and you will be back.
Bad Food, Bad Service. Being a Chef with over twenty years experience, I am sometimes a little picky when it comes to dining out. But this restaurant is an insult to Italians and Italian food every where. The Marinara sauce tasted and looked as if the cook had just opened a can and emptied it on right onto the plate. Just one time and your hooked..... I moved to Horseheads,NY a year ago.I ABSOLUTELY LOVE Taninos! The service is amazing,food is MUCH better than I could have ever expected! The other comments have to be from people who are jealous that their food doesnt taste like Taninos!(Some ppl arent happy no matter what!) Their loss! This is Italian food at its finest! What a treat! We love to go to Tanino's for dinner. The decor is beautiful, the wait staff is very friendly and knowledgeable and the food is wonderful. We have yet to have a bad meal here. My favorite is Chicken Scampi - make sure you order is over pasta - I did receive it plain once with pasta and red sauce on the side. You want the pasta under the scampi to get all the delicious sauce. My husband is quite fond of the veal dishes and the salads are great. I've enjoyed their pizza also.
Never Again!! I will start with saying that I have been dining at this restaurant for about 8 years and I had always been happy with it before. This last time I went I was appalled!! I ordered my favorite salad: the "spinach salad". I order it every time no need to even look at the menu. When it came to me it was #1 half the size or smaller and it was made with Blue Cheese(which is a cheese I can not eat, not that they know that).
