If you're in the outerbanks area, you must visit this restaurant. We were seated promptly and ended up with a beautiful window seat overlooking the sound. The staff were very friendly and helpful with the menu. They had amazing food! I tried some of the lobster from my husband's plate and swordfish from my daughter's. I had the filet mignon and salmon. Absolutely the best crab cake I ever had. We got the broiled seafood combo and while way too much food it was wonderful.

Amazing place and food! The Rehearsal dinner we had here was perfect, everything from the organizing, communicating with Dan, meal choices and service were all great. We can not say enough great things about our experience at Tale of the Whale! The appetizers and the food were amazing and were some of the best we have had in OBX. We loved the Hot Crab Dip, Brushetta, Crab Cakes, Coconut Shrimp and Steak. Thanks for making the Rehearsal dinner an amazing night! We will be back soon!
Delicious, as always! We eat at Tale of the Whale at least once every time we are in Nags Head.
Service was good and the sound view was very nice; however, for the price, better food elsewhere on the beach.
I love playing drums there with Larry Griffin on the gazebo. The people always have a great antisapation while their waiting, listing to the music on the deck. The food is the best and the service cant be beat.
