Great food, awful service. – Earlier this week, I went in for dinner right when they opened. I wanted to get there early to avoid a crazy crowd. Food was great- of what I recieved, that is. Server forgot half of the order and had an AWFUL attitude the entire time. I, too, am a waitress. It's not what I would call a dream job, but I am smart enough not to approach a table with the attitude that I hate my job, hate my life, and don't give a flying f about the customers... this girl, not so smart. It wasn't busy, so she can't r... read more

Wonderful! – I'm usually not the most adventurous sushi eater but the Takashi kitchen puts their incredibly inventive rolls together in such a way that no matter what you order and no matter how outlandish the combinations seem, it's all delicious. My only complaint it that it's such a scene it's hard to get a table, and so noisy you can't converse after you get one. But there's a good reason people put up with that -- the sushi.

Come if you have nothing else planned that evening – We waited an hour and had to leave... they hadn't even prepared our sushi by then. My girlfriend and I had a substandard dining experience at Takashi. Bleah.

Like an beautiful Oasis in a desert of lack luster cuisine attempts – I will admit that I have high standards, but Takashi Gibo has put my faith back into Utah. His staff was very friendly and talkative (without being too forward). The food is the best I've had in three years of searching high and low for something to write home about. The menu is inventive, the product fresh, presentation was tasteful and my every need was met cheerfully and quickly. So far, my best Salt Lake dinning experience to date. Takashi deserves kud... read more

If you know a better place in the USA let me know. – I am a Frequent Traveler who loves sushi. I have been to what are regarded as the best on both coasts. Masa in NY, Makoto in DC, Sushi Taro in DC, Nobu in NY and Las Vegas, Sushi Ota in San Diego, Urasawa in Los Angeles, and literally hundreds more. Every City I go to I want to sample their wares. I have been eating Takashi's sushi for years now, between Shogun and now Takashi. It is still by a long distance the best sushi I have ever tasted. If Masa in NY is second best i... read more

Customer Service was Bad! – My friend and I went here for lunch today. We were seated right away and the place was very nice. We were just 2 of a few who had come to lunch before noon. The server took our order right away, brought us drinks and shortly after we had an appetizer. Then I got my soup; the soup my friend ordered came much later! Then we waited and waited. After 50 minutes we inquired as to how long it would be before were would get our sushi and where my friends soup was. The server told us something about a ?20... read more

best sushi in utah – i am a sushi fanatic, and was VERY impressed by the food at takashi, we were seated within about 10 minutes and the place was packed. the sushi was full of flavor and tasted fresh...some rolls were small for the how much they cost...and our server was a little slow but understandbly since the restaurant was so busy, its to the best of my knowledge that takashi is the only zagat rated sushi restaurant in utah. love it love it love it love it love it!

Fantastic - Everytime! – I have been to Takashi now five or six times and have had a wonderful experience everytime. We always end up going on week nights around 7:30pm or 8:00pm and never have to wait long and while waiting we have to have a beer at the bar - bummer. The sushi is always fantastic!!! I have not tried one that I have not liked and to be honest this is the only place that I really dare to get daring with my selections because I know I won't be disappointed. Our favorites are the Ramone's roll and the Sunshine ... read more

Very fresh fish. – I have eaten at Takashi a few times and their fish is really fresh but some of their rolls are on the smaller side for the price, but otherwise very good.
