Great if you know what to order – I like Taka. The place is a little devoid of ambience but the food is very good if you know what to order. For all those who dislike him, I urge you to venture beyond the americanized maki rolls and tuna nigiri which pay his utility bills. His menu and kitchen have far more interesting items which are just as good as the top sushi in the nation. The hamachi kama (a grilled yellowtail head) and sea urchin custard are amazing. His fish is always fresh and the service always attentive and cheer... read more
Modest Buckhead sushi joint wins with top-notch fish and creative takes on Japanese flavors. – The Scene Sheltered from the local party scene by a row of upscale salons, this small sushi restaurant resembles a sleepy Gulf Coast seafood shack. Maritime trinkets grace the washed-out blue walls and the greatest hits of the '70s pump from mounted speakers. A six-seat sushi bar runs nearly the width of the room. Service is attentive and quick with recommendations. The Food Premium quality nigiri and sashimi, as well as innovative... read more
Taka is OK – Taka is a nice lil' spot in buckhead. But I don't think it's worth a top rating. If you like more "americanized" sushi, this is probably the place for you. ....... The tuna and salmon sashimi are very good, everything else is pretty average.
Ssuhi Place – The nigiri was sliced rather small. It was still good. They are a little skimpy on the wasabi, so if you like this a lot simply request more. The ginger slices could be smaller, they were a little long and they didn't give out enough of this either.
Yummy! – It was a really good dinner at Taka. First of all, FREE PARKING was good for us and they have nice patio. We had a couple of appetizer and sushi. Oh my god, Red snapper sashimi salad. The dressing is phenomenal. I asked the waitress what's in it. Taka use almost 10 ingredients for that dressing. Sushi was good and they have a lot of unique rolls. Thanks,TAKA. We will be back.
I LOVE TUNA. – I love tuna. No more than tuna. I never failed at Taka. They have excellent tuna all the time. If it is bad, they say that don't buy. I like sashimi and they serve tuna with special soy sauce. This is really good. This is my heaven. Thanks. Taka.
fun! fun! fun! – I had very tender toro first time at taka. It was almost like butter. The price was a little high but no matter. This place has a lot of fun rolls and very creative.
Improved – I go to Taka every month with fmy riends. They cahnged the color of wall and got new decor. It was kind of dark blue before. And now, spring blue is there. Food is always good and very creative menu. I really like enjoying Taka's Japanese food. One of my friend doesn't eat sushi or raw fish and there is no problem. he tried Japanese pizza, okonomayaki or something like that. That's yummy. We are looking forward to see next menu. Thanks Taka.
Quality sushi, but tacky decor! – Very creative sushi choices and friendly service. Sadly, the blue walls and plastic fish decor is more tacky than trendy. Still, if you're just coming for the fish, its fresh and delicious.
