TCC has failed to settle a union contract with advising staff. This is shameful and unfair. As an institution of higher learning I would expect far more from TCC. Negotiate now. Settle this union contract.

It's time to negotiate a fair contract. It has been too long for Student Services employees, two years to negotiate a contract is two years to many.

On how TCC treats Student Services employees: Students pay higher tuition. They deserve value for those high fees. And the dedicated student services employees, like counselors, are vital to give students the first-rate education they deserve. It's ridiculous for the college to treat these employees this way -- it's an insult to the students who rely on them, trust them and respect them. Give them a fair contract -- for the students' sake!

"As a community member and taxpayer, I urge President Transue and the TCC administration to do the right thing and negotiate a fair contract with TCC’s student service employees. The work they do is valuable and they deserve respect. Two years of stalling is long enough.”

My guess is that President Transue is getting bonuses that should be spent on staff by stalling negotiations...treating those that serve the students, who, btw, PAY for those bonuses...like defecation...grow a pair, come to the table with fairness and equality or you may soon find empty halls because students don't want to attend a dirty school!

Not being able to reach some sort of a starting point in a contract with employees after 2 years at the table deserves less than one star, but this rating is as low as i can get it. Recognize that the group of people who are negotiating a contract are the same folks who help you keep your doors open. It's time to come up with something.

I would think that with all of the intelligent folks you have working for you President Trunsue you would have been able to negotiate a fair and equitable contract with you Student Services in less than TWO years. Perhaps you should go to the internet and google the definition of negotiating in good faith, and then apply it to your situation. Perhaps the Student Services employees and their union should start considering the possibility of a STRIKE. That may get both yours and your Board of Trustees attention, and possibly t... read more
