Sushi Sasa

About this business

Though some people might complaint about the loads of plastic being used here, Sushi Sasa does come highly recommended for anyone who would like a delightful sushi meal. Apart from the traditional sushi, you will also find several innovative dishes that use exotic fish, prepared in Japanese style. The restaurant menu features an excellent sake and wine list.

Thanks from Chicago. – While visiting friends in Boulder over the holidays, we happened to come across Sushi Sasa via a hotel recommendation. Yes, it was kinda hard to find at first, being that my friends just moved to Boulder, from Chicago. But once we arrived it was like we had found a small pearl in a very old building. The decor was a bit stark, but I found it more modern than awkward. The wine list was a bit overbearing, but we had nothing but pure guidance from our server. Our server recommended a few items, I guess lu... read more

You pay for the pretension – I was expecting big things, and was appalled. I expected a sushi restaurant, not a yuppy place that happened to serve sushi. It was painfully loud and uncomfortable. It was crowded too, though I could not understand why. The sushi selection was horrible. I guess they figured 20 pages of liquor menu would get you drunk enough you wouldn't notice the lack of sushi selection. The ingredients were all good, but the rolls were horribly put together. I make better rolls at home myself. I could barely e... read more

Noisy with overpriced average sushi and poor service – It was OK. I would have given it 3 stars except that I could not hear my dinner partner across a small table. The sushi was good, but the rolls were all overpriced and kept falling apart. The service was very slow and drinks, alcoholic or not took forever. The atmosphere and noise level was more like that of a trendy bar not a restaurant.

great food, the rest needs work – The food was pretty good, but the atmosphere and service need work. If you sit upstairs, it is crowed and noisy. I also expected the service to be fine dining due to the prices. Not so, and she overcharged us. She charged $20 dollars per glass of wine that was $10. My boyfriend didn't tell me until we got home, so I didn't get a chance to correct the mistake. Giving her the benefit of the doubt that it was just a mistake, not the kind of mistake I would expect from a nice restaurant. I might... read more

BEST SUSHI EVER – I LOVE this place! It is the BEST sushi I have ever had! I've had sushi at some of the best places in the US, Nobu, Geisha House, Social House but Wayne has a special way of making it beyond exceptional, FRESH ingrediants, absolute chic atmosphere, Lychee martinis... Awh, I love it!

no camera allowed, but great food – As always, you will find incredible food at Sushi Sasa! The waitress was a delight. Conversely, you are NOT allowed cameras in the restaurant as there might be 'spies'. So, don't take a long a camera for a birthday dinner. Otherwise, fantastic. Will continue to go ... just without the proof.

Such a great lunch!! – We came in to Sushi Sasa for lunch the other day, it was very busy and we were a party of 7, but much to our surprise, we were seated in 5 minutes and the afternoon continued with great service.. Our server seemed busy, but was very informative with every dish that came out. They had many veggie tempuras and veggie rolls to choose from for my vegetarian sister and even offered to create a vegetarian plate for her. They also brought out chicken skewers for my son. We ordered many different rolls, my fav... read more

Sushi in the City – I just moved to Denver from Miami about 2 months ago. I went to Sushi Sasa for the first time this weekend. I had such a great time. First, I was very skeptical about sushi in the mountains, and my date was out to prove me wrong. He certainly did! I was blown away! The fish was SO fresh an sooo good! It was extremely busy, and a very trendy crowd. I felt right at home. We had this sparkeling sake that i had never had before- it's my new favorite drink!!! I will be back for sure. I can't wait! i need to ma... read more

What?! Who?! Why? – So I'm an avid fan of Sushi Den. I've been to local places, Sonodas, wherever. I've been going to Sushi Den exclusively for the past two years so I've developed a palette for the good stuff. Whenever talking sushi with anyone, Sushi Sasa always comes up. "Have you tried Sushi Sasa in the Highlands area? It's as good as / better than Sushi Den and cheaper!" I had dinner there one night and immediately noticed how simple and clean it presented itself. So the layout and interior design of the restaurant was ... read more
