Sushi Sasa

4.4

About this business

Though some people might complaint about the loads of plastic being used here, Sushi Sasa does come highly recommended for anyone who would like a delightful sushi meal. Apart from the traditional sushi, you will also find several innovative dishes that use exotic fish, prepared in Japanese style. The restaurant menu features an excellent sake and wine list.

Unimpressed! – Not bad, but my Salmon Sushimi was half frozen and crunchy. I was even told "maybe you should let it sit there to thaw out some before you eat it". I would have been there another hour. There are plenty of better and cheaper sushi places in Denver.

Great food – Fresh fish, good atmosphere. Good service, but they do waste a lot of plastic and paper towels in there. Chefs a great.

great food – best sushi resturant in colorado. fish is always fresh. why would someone care about plastic waste when the resturant serves faquga and toro. if you eat sushi and force fed bloated goose livers you are contributing more to the destruction of the planet than some plastic wrap. I think never decomposes is a bit overly dramatic. I just bought a 20 pack of heafty freezer bags to thow in a land fill in honor of sasa's excellent food. chew on that.

Good sushi isn't worth the terrible service – First off, I would just like to say that I was a server for 7 years. Because of this, I usually go easy on servers and I always know what's their fault and what's not. I've never left below a 20% tip, in fact I usually leave around 30%, so the fact that I'm writing a review (my 1st review ever) on the terrible service means that it was absolutely awful. My boyfriend and I were very excited to try Sushi Sasa. We love Sushi Den and heard this place was comparable so we made reserva... read more

Great but not Green – The sushi was delightful and the service was lovely but such a successful business should be putting more energy and money into being green. There were disposable hand towels wrapped in plastic, disposable wooden chop sticks and lots of plastic used behind the counter. Although the food was fine, I'd choose another more sustainably oriented sushi restaurant over Sasa, until they decide to become more environmentally responsible.

Great Sushi - but very wasteful – Very good sushi and soups, however I was disappointed to know that I was contributing to the mass amount of waste that was going on inside the restaurant- each sushi roll was wrapped in plastic wrap, sliced, then the plastic was immediately thrown away [plastic never decomposes- it will just sit in a landfill]. Many other disposable products were used that were not necessary. Sushi Sasa would be well advised to be more green otherwise mass amounts of people who are green- minded will boycott... read more

Puts sushi den to bed – Let the Chef's do their magic. Omakase is the only way to go, although their rolls aren't too shabby either. Some favs: Blue Fin, King Crab, Monkfish Liver, and the melt in your mouth Scallop....along with anything else these guys pull out of their hats. Not sure how I feel about the impending expansion. I like the fact it is small intimate and it keeps the chefs focused. But, then again, I am open to it. Drinks, I always stick with the sake (cold not hot), so while I can say I think they have a solid... read more

Awful – Truly disappointing. Having tried numerous sushi spots in Denver, Sushi Sasa was on our list to try. We had heard mixed reviews but of course wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt and try them out for ourselves. To start with, even having made a reservation, we arrived about 10 minutes before our reserved time. There were multiple two tops and four tops open but we were asked if we wanted to sit at the sushi bar because no tables were available. We declined. On a side note, friends of ours that had made reserv... read more
