Sushi Sasa

About this business

Though some people might complaint about the loads of plastic being used here, Sushi Sasa does come highly recommended for anyone who would like a delightful sushi meal. Apart from the traditional sushi, you will also find several innovative dishes that use exotic fish, prepared in Japanese style. The restaurant menu features an excellent sake and wine list.

Wow! Diablo Roll & Toro blew me away! – Two word review... Go here! Food - The sushi was some of the best I've ever had. The Toro was incredible - melt on your tongue and the flavor to go with it. The regular tuna was excellent as well - I planned to order a 2nd order of it, but the waiter convinced me to go for the Toro instead (and I didn't regret it even with the $5 vs $12 per order difference). The Diablo Roll was superb as well (raw tuna & avocado inside, seered tuna outside). As for service - I had a totally different ... read more

I'm not sure where the last guy was! – Coming from Philadelphia, which is home of Iron Chef Morimoto's resturaunt, I was a bit reluctant to venture into the sushi scene anywhere else...especially Denver. My experience at Sushi Sasa was one that was quite pleasant. From the moment I walked in I was greeted with warm welcome by almost all of the staff, even in the midst of the pandemonium during the lunch hours. I had been asked if I had ever been to the resturaunt, after saying no, they had insisted they show me a tour...as I... read more

Great fish, bad service – I had heard good things about Sasa & had driven by in the past, but the night I finally decided to go, they had taken the sign outside down, claiming that they want the restaurant to be kind of an "in the know" place, which made it tough for my friends to find & therefore made them late. Also, when I had called earlier, the hostess strongly urged me to make reservations, however in the time that we were there, the restaurant was never completely full...I'm a little torn over the "snob factor" given ... read more

Really bad service – I'm not a huge fan of how Sushi Sasa is decorated, very minimal, a little cold and extremely loud! The sushi was good, however I ordered unagi and it came 15 minutes after everyone else's meal came (including a friends chocolate cake). When I mentioned something to the manager he told me that my sushi came out last because unagi is supposed to be ordered as dessert. Sooo, my sushi, that I ordered off the dinner sushi menu, which came out after the order of a chocolate cake, is apparently a dessert. I had... read more

Sushiphiles score savory fish at this cosmopolitan cool Japanese eatery with a menu featuring both raw and cooked delights. – In Short This well-hidden austere sushi spot is filled with dimly lit pale-wooded tables requiring minimal adornment--save for fresh flowers and chopsticks. Customers settle at a table or at the sushi bar occupied by a seasoned team of banter-friendly pros. The sushi, whether its yellowtail, toro, or silken scallops, is superbly fresh, and even the hot dishes, such as the Chilean sea bass, stand up to... read more

Great Sushi! – I've lived in NYC and L.A. and I must say this sushi is definitely comparable! It was excellent. The fish was really fresh and the servers were really nice. Also, I don't know if anyone is aware, but the owner/sushi chef actually studied under one of the iron chef's so he really knows his stuff. I will definitely go back. Great sushi!

Best new Sushi in Denver – We have been to Sushi Sasa 5 times, and it is New York quality sushi. After moving to Denver from NY, sushi has been hard to find, but at last we have Sushi Sasa! It is better than the other top places in town. The staff is great, and knows our name already and the food is wonderful! Very innovative and custom!! Great new addition to Denver!

Great Service and Incredible Food – We've been to Sushi Sasa three times and have been seated promptly and had great service, despite being late for dinner at peak times on Saturday nights. Our courses were well-timed and artfully presented. The quality of the food is unparalleled. The vibe is upbeat, energetic and magical. Our servers clearly enjoyed their work, and their enthusiasm was contagious. We brought our squirmy, cranky toddler one night and the staff bent over backwards to amuse her and brought her many yummy amus... read more

very impressive – i've been to sasa twice now and i must say i've been pleasently surprised on both occasions. coming from a coastal city (boston), i'm pretty used to getting fresh fish so when i came out here for college at DU my expectations weren't too high. simply put, i was very impressed with my whole experience at sushi sasa. the fish is awsome and i was surprised by the kitchen selections as well (try the kobe beer--awsome). the overall atmosphere i thought was ok, but my date seemed to really like it. my server was ... read more
