We rented #655 on the Sound for a week in March 2021. The house was great overall. We are avid travelers and had many VRBO like experiences. The big negative with this house/company is having to pay for linens and towels. The other negative is there are NO paper products, no TP, no paper towels, no nothing! They did give us one roll of paper towels and 1 roll of TP for a 6 bedroom 8 bath home. You also must bring condiments, soap (no soap anywhere either). If I could give this company a 0 I would! I have been trying to get a response for someone from this company for over a month. They left us stranded in our rental house for days in September. The only way we had to leave the house was to walk through the trash filled moat that surrounded the house or climb a fence. We had dogs to walk. The only reason we got any help was because two maintenance people from the company just happened to be driving by and checking on people. They were not sent by management. I wish you could write this review with zero Stars but they make you give them one! Very unprofessional, shady, and rude. They canceled our reservation on the morning we were leaving and gave us no explanation other than you have nowhere to stay have a great weekend.. I highly recommend finding another firm to rent from unless you plan on staying home
The house was covered in black mold and everyone who used the hot tub got hot tub folliculitis. We reported the mold and were told maintenance would come. They never did. We reported the HTF and no one responded. It took 3 days and multiple calls for anyone in the office to call me back after we left, and when they did, the manager basically said "that could be wet dust, black mold isn't black, rashes can be caused by other things" - AKA you can't prove any of this. I would give ZERO stars if it was a choice! We stayed at a house on Ocean Spray Road (called Solare), managed by Surf and Sound for our recent family vacation. Our first indication should have been the tall weeds/grass which hadn't been cut in a while (someone did come mid-week and cut while we were there). When we first walked the front door it smelled musky. The house itself was nice and large enough for our family BUT it was filthy! Worst customer service. They refused to issue a refund they promised during COVID pandemic
Horrible Customer Service! I would give zero stars if allowed. The ONLY realtor in OBX that refuses to refund money to families during the corona virus pandemic! Not before, not after...but DURING the pandemic when the bridge to OBX was closed and families couldn’t get there by law!! Do not trust a word they say! They are out for your money and nothing more! Don’t fall prey to these people!
