Very clean hospital and the staff are very nice. The staff know what they're doing. The only bad thing is you have to pay to park.
I had a deadly disease call colitis back in 2009 First I went to Northwest Hospital, was told it was the flu. After staying up all night throwing up, I told my husband to take me to GBMC. Once in the emergency room and after a flood of tests. I was diagnosed with this disease. My life was in jeopardy. My doctors announced that recovery was unusual. Most patients don,t make it My stay lasted for three and half weeks. Glad the Lord was on my side.
Very disappointed with GBMC in Towson, Maryland. On 9/24/2014 I was sent to the emergency room by Patients First because my blood sugar levels were well in excess of 300 and urine tests indicated diabetic ketoacidosis (which can be fatal). Rather than being treated, which was why I was sent there in the first place, I was discharged and referred over to make an appointment with the GBMC group specializing in diabetes. I had an episode where I had a rapid heart beat & since I was home alone with my daughter I decided to go to the ER. I live in Rosedale & since I've had BAD experiences with Both Franklin Square & Good Sam I went straight to GBMC. Now my Primary doctor is also there so I like to keep everything at the hospital to keep my records together. Now when I got to the ER is was seen with in 15 min & taken about soon after they did my EKG. My one year old grandson had a temperature of 106.1 on Friday when my daughter rushed him to the ER at GBMC. Although they stayed in the DR pediatric unit until Sunday night, we couldn't have asked for better care for this very sick little boy and his stressed and frightened mommy. Happy to report that he went to his own pediatrician today and got the all clear from him.
After our experience with Dr Califano, I was disappointed. He is a terrific surgeon but a terrible doctor. As a result, he was able to remove a horrible tumor from Jacob Dehoff but still insisted we return for a year. All he did was say what a wonderful job he did. No explanation for the complications. It was diagnosed by our doctor but Califano had to see it first. Jake died from infection before it could be treated. That's arrogance!
I had something done at the Woman's surgical center yesterday. The doctors, nurses and the entire staff treated me excellent. I felt like I was given the best care anyone could ask for. It has been almost 13 years since I had my second child and had been in the hospital, they were great then and they still are. Thank you all so much!!!!
Mom is still there since last Wednesday (due to be released tomorrow). However, the amazing ability of the folks on Unit 45 to be not just employees, but also therapists, friends and advocates for us has made me feel incapable of expressing my gratitude in words. 'Thank You' hardly seems adequate, and 'We Appreciate What You Have Done' doesn't cut it either. I have learned so much from each and every one of you, you will never know.
