I brought a car on 8/19/15 for 1700. Soon as I got home ran hot and key wouldn't come out the ignition so car was always on so battery was dead... Then when I got a jump the key wouldn't turn so now I'm literally waiting on tow truck.... I am so pissed....April
What a joke. Went there to watch for first time. Almost nothing sold. Apparently if top dollar isn't bid, they send the car away with no sale. Sometimes a car will be a "phone call" sale. If you are the highest bidder, you won't know if you bought the car until the seller is called on the next business day to see if he accepts your bid. Bullshit. If there is a reserve, I need to know now. If I did not meet reserve, I still have the money to buy another car. This is just a used car lot with overpriced cars made to look like a... read more
TFisch84 review and the other negative review might be accurate BUT it's an auction and buyer beware! TFisch84 admittedly came late and could not check the car out he purchase and even when he found information about something wrong with the car they still purchased it. I have some fabulous swam land, sure it's great come on down. This guy must have just fell off the turnip truck. He's blaming everyone but himself for making bad decisions. The list of things wrong with the car he would of figured out had he got there on time... read more
You can find a good deal there – I bought a used VW Passat there for $3300 and put about 25K miles on it with no problems. I was driving home from school the weekends 3 1/2 hours each way and never felt nervous about it breaking down. After graduating college, I bought a new car but drove the Passat to the dealership to trade it in--again, never had a problem with the used car and had it about a year and a half. Before the auction starts, you can crank the engine, look under the hood, and use your phone to research the make/... read more
Owner is a liar and a piece of trash – Went here as somewhat of a last resort to replace my fiance's car after having no luck at dealerships. We were unable to go to the public viewing so were unaware of the condition of the vehicles they sell here. So we are waiting in the auction area, and a jeep comes through that looks decent enough. The tachometer display was no longer functioning correctly so the mileage was inaccurate, but she wanted to bid anyways. The owner assured us that the vehicle was in great condition, and sai... read more
Run across some steals – I've gotten my last few cars there and go just for fun a lot. I've done what the person below said and bid on a car when I wasn't planning to and didnt register, but you still have to pay the $25 when you get inside. So it's not like you pay more when you play by the rules. But there are a lot of cars that aren't worth buying, but there are also a lot of great cars too, especially in this bad economy. It's a lot of fun and high energy. I'd recommend going once to watch before you go to buy. And I'd t... read more
Buyer Beware – This place has pretty much turned into a used car lot with salesman approaching you before the sale. I have bought several cars here but only one turned out to be a good car. When I bought those cars I had the chance to pull them forward and backwards to make sure they sounded okay. Many times you don't find the problem until the car gets hot. This last time we noticed many of the cars seemed to have something added to the oil. Also, they said we absolutely couldn't move the car. They do drive them through but... read more
Summerville Auto Auction is a SCAM – This place sucks! They have it rigged so that the general public cannot bid on any decent vehicles. The vehicles for auction to the peasants were mostly ones that should have been junked as far as I can see. What a waste of my time.
Waste of Time! – I went to the public auction with the hopes of finding a decent car. I walked around the lot to preview the cars. In fact, I found a nice one that I wanted to bid on, but an attendant shooed me away: that car was available ONLY FOR DEALERSHIPS. So, let me get this straight--they get the best price for their sellers by LIMITING WHO CAN BID ON CERTAIN CARS? I watched the auction with the hopes that there would be other cars in good shape that I had missed, but what I saw seemed to be cars that were TOO CRAPPY ... read more
