Worst customer service – My fiance and I have been wanting to try Strip House for a year now and I finally made reservations for his 30th birthday 3 weeks ago. Once we got there they told us to wait at the bar our table would be ready momentarily. We didn't get seated until after we had been waiting an hour and 20 mins!!! They kept telling us we were the next table but then would seat other people. Pricey but worth it – Went to Strip House for boyfriend's birthday on a Monday evening. Place was packed - mostly after-work business crowd and a few couples like ourselves. Service was great - our waiter was attentative and let us linger after dinner rather than rushing us out of there. Food and presentation were both wonderful. AWFUL SERVICE- worst I ever had – As the title says, I have never experienced such poor service from such an upscale place. First, our resrvation (for 2) was at 10pm. We did not get seated until 10:50pm. When we checked on our table at 10:30 the hostess, who was not all there, said it would be a little longer. WOW!! – This is my first ever review of any restaurant even though I check this site out at least once a week before eating out...let me tell you..the Strip House is amazing. My boyfriend took me there for our first anniversary and I have to say that I was very impressed by his choice. I had the filet minon which was perfectly cooked and he had the New York strip. really great steak – it does have a burlesqueish feel to it from the red plushness of the walls and seats. but the food itself is really great. Good sized, well prepared portions of steak with appropriately matched sized sides. also the service was really great, always someone there to check on your water/wine and food satisfaction
Cool atmosphere, great food – Had a reservation for 7 pm on a Saturday night, we were running late, got there at 730. We figured that we would have to wait forever for a table and the host seated us promptly. Great service, the swordfish was amazing, get the creamed corn with pancetta, delicious! Highly overpriced... – In a place with such a reputation and such prices, you would expect a MUCH better steak quality. The strip was just "above average" and rather medium-rare cooked instead of rare (in such an expensive steak house, when you order "rare", you expect rare, nothing else). If the prices were half of what they are, the experience would be very satisfactory, because the place looks and feels great. But with the existing price/quality level, I don't think so...
Best Steak in NY and Beyond – Went last night with a group of 8 and had a great experience. Started with oysters on the half shell, clams casino (very good but small), and salad. The bone-in ribeye was unbelievable and very large. By far the best ribeye I've ever had. Others got the strip, the porterhouse for two, and the filet (all were overly pleased). Don't believe anyone who doesn't call this the best steak experience in NYC – Ok people. Read the reviews. What do we have, about 99.9% rave reviews for the Strip House? Yes, they sometimes over book and you may have to wait, but this is hardly uncommon in smaller, high-end restaurants. (Would you prefer to be rushed out of your table when it is YOUR turn to dine?)
