stox First of all the owner is rude and does not say excuse me when he gets something from your table he is a jerk! Second the silverware and glasses are very old with scratches and the place is dirty.
Great desserts An icon in Downey. If you go for dinner to save some room for dessert. Definitely try a slice of pie! If you are too full you can take it home with you.

I have been eating here for breakfast, lunch, dinner and late night snacks since I arrived in Downey in 1965. Hardly anything has changed which is a very good thing. No matter what I have ordered, even the chicken liver sandwich with red onion sandwich that I used to order in the 60s was great. Their coffee is hot and delicious. The service is outstanding! Coffee and silverware is kept in the middle of the restaurant so that the servers can quickly pour coffee. The attached bar is secluded with a full range of bar drinks.
