Love Stone Mountain Camp grounds!!! Shuttle service to Yellow Daisy Festival and laser show!!! Trash pick up at sites is a great touch. All employees we encountered, especially Chynna @ campground, were absolutely the best!!!
The people are nice and it is beautiful here l would love try fishing in the lake .

Really enjoyed my trip to stone mountain today. I hate that race baiting groups are trying to get the carving removed! Not only is it a part of my southern heritage it is a work of art! Can you imagine trying to tackle something like that as a artist? That's just insane to think about. I like Stone Mountain Park. Camping at Stone Mountain. One of my favorite things at Stone Mountain Park is riding The Duck, going to the Candy Kitchen they have the best fudge. I also like the glass shop where you watch a glass blowing demonstration. They also have movies at the theater in 4-D. I always love going to Stone Mountain Park.
My grandchildren and I had a wonderful day! The staff were all very friendly and helpful. We were able to do all of the attractions they were interested in plus hiking the King's Trail on Indian Island and plenty of pool time at the hotel. The view from the top of the mountain was stupendous! We will be coming back. The Big Barn was a huge hit with the kids (ages 9 and 10). Beautiful park.
While I can completely understand Stone Mountain canceling the last part of tonight's show due to incoming weather, what I CANNOT understand is why you would stop the show in the middle of the star spangled banner. Was it really so bad that you couldn't have waited another 20 seconds? When the crowd decided to finish the song, stone mountain wasn't having any of that and interrupted our national anthem AGAIN...(but you could still finish the fireworks show? Really?) It is a Sunday. August 16th. Yes, some schools / colleges are back in session. But why do you have to close everything at 3 or 5? There is so much more daylight, so many people are still here. AND.... NO LASER SHOW. ... you should not stop it until after Labor Day. I was so excited to bring my grandson and so disappointed. This place used to be the highlight of our weekend... and last time I checked Sunday is still part of the weekend.
